TRANSFORMATIONAL CHANGE FOR BIRTH ENVIRONMENT Knowledge mobilization for a new architectural paradigm
The research, granted by The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada, aims to: i) enhance global awareness about the import of better birth spaces; ii) develop a comprehensive, online, user-oriented Knowledge Mobilization Resource for architects, designers, healthcare professionals and policymakers providing a richly informative grounding in birth environment design supporting normal birth; iii) facilitate a global movement for better design of birth environments, understood as holding significance for impacting maternal and infant health and wellbeing. The project will provide valuable and accessible support to architects, designers, and policymakers in healthcare settings and will lay the groundwork for the first ever Birth Environment Design Knowledge Mobilization platform. |
