MamIn - The new Maternal and Child Center, requirements and tools for the design of birth spaces
The research, financed by the Teaching Hospital of Bologna Policlinico Sant'Orsola Malpighi, aims to develop and provide specific recommendations for the design and construction of the new birth spaces, in particular the area dedicated to physiology, identifying the spatial elements and organizational aspects, and addressing improvements in design of the unit and birth room scale, in relation to the evaluation of the tender-based project of the new maternal and children's center. In particular, the research group is also working to implement a participatory process with medical staff and users of the birth path in order to investigate the relationship between the proposed spatial configurations and users' perception, while at the same time realizing user information and awareness activities for citizens on the existence of the different birth paths that will be available within the Hospital. |
