Valentina graduated in 2003 with honors at the Faculty of Architecture of Florence with thesis re: Housing for Alzheimer's patients. Member of the TESIS inter-university research center since 2003 on research activities concerning the design of residences for the elderly and of nuclei dedicated to specific pathologies. She obtained her Ph.D. in Architectural Technology at the IUAV of Venice in 2011, on issue concerning the active participation of workers in the design of the workplace, with comparison of experiences of participatory processes in Italy and Sweden.
Researcher at the Michelucci Foundation on Social Housing issues since 2004.
She carries out training activities for patients, family members and caregivers re: the adaptation of the physical environment and environmental measures in case of various disabilities (senile dementia and Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Multiple sclerosis, etc.).
Research fellow, starting from 2016, at the TESIS Interuniversity Research Center at the University of Florence, on issues concerning the development of tools, techniques and methodologies of technical support for the evaluation of projects of complex public works, to be used in the monitoring of programs and / or interventions of university buildings. Since 2018 she is also involved in teaching collaboration as an expert on the subject, in the disciplinary sector ICAR12 at the Department of Architecture in Florence.
