The research, funded by 'Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze', aims to evaluate the association between environmental determinants and health indicators for an healthy and inclusive aging in the local communities of the Metropolitan City of Florence, in view of increasing the well-being of the entire population. Considering the recent demographic and epidemiological transitions, it is crucial to consider the impact of built environment on health, in terms of health promotion/healthy ageing and chronic diseases prevention. Consequently the study will focus on identifying which (micro and meso level) factors of the neighborhood are more closely involved in promoting physical activity, accessibility to services and social interactions.
